MAKE YOUR STARTUP IDEA REAL

Techstars Startup Weekend Aarhus is is a 54-hour startup sprint where months of startup learnings, meetups and f**kups are compressed into one single, intense weekend.

Friday is for teaming up around ideas. Participants pitch fresh startup ideas, the room votes, and diverse teams of 4-6 people form around the strongest ones.

Saturday is for building and feedback: Teams spend the day validating, testing and iterating including 1:1 mentor feedback from experienced founders and operators.

Sunday is the final stretch. Teams refine their ideas, prepare their pitches and present to a panel of expert judges before the winners are announced.

PICK your role

Startup Weekend Aarhus is for any future founder with a fresh idea. Whether you are a student, a working professional, or somewhere in between, you belong here. Most participants have never done anything like this before - and that’s the point. The best startups don't start with a perfect plan. They start with an intense weekend.

For 199 DKK (including food and drinks throughout), you get the tools, the network, and the mentors you need to take that first step.

We all started somewhere. Make your startup idea real here.

A global format with local success

As part of the global Techstars Startup Weekend format, we use a proven structure that has helped entrepreneurs in over 150 countries. In Aarhus, this weekend has a habit of producing things that last:

- Be My Eyes: Started as an idea at Startup Weekend and is now a global platform used by millions of people to help the blind and low-vision community worldwide.

- RaskRask: Founded at Startup Weekend, and has grown into an established health business with 18 employees providing on-demand treatments.

- Tables.so: Born from the 2024 edition, proving that the next big thing is always just one weekend away.

FAQ

What language will the event be in?

The entire event will be in English. But don’t worry—Danglish is totally allowed!

Is this event for me?

If you are interested in startups the answer is most likely yes. Whether you are a serial entrepreneur or new to the startup scene, you’ll fit right in as long as you are motivated to build a product or startup and are open to new ideas. We believe that great ideas can come from anywhere.

Do I have to participate in all three days?

Yes, everyone who participates in the event is expected to participate in all three days. This is important not only to preserve your own learning experience, but also to minimize distractions or disruptions for the team you choose to join.

What about accommodation?

You'll need to sort out your own place to crash. We don't provide accommodation, but there are plenty of great options around town!

How do I prepare?

Practice your pitch: You'll have 60 seconds on Friday to persuade other participants to join your team. Prepare a positive attitude and openness to collaboration! And get some rest!

What should I bring?

Bring yourself, an open mind, and a willingness to collaborate and learn. It's also a good idea to bring a laptop and any materials you may need to work on your startup over the weekend. Delicious food provided all weekend long.

Do I need to have pitch a business idea to participate?

No, you don't need to come to the event with an idea, but we highly encourage you to. Participants will have an opportunity to pitch their ideas Friday, and teams will form around the most promising ones.
